Casa Navàs (Lluís Domènech i Montaner, 1901–1907) is one of the greatest examples of Catalan and European Modernisme. Its original tower was destroyed during the Spanish Civil War by the impact of a bomb, a loss that significantly altered the building’s volume and overall perception.
The torratxa is conceived as a vertical space, with a strong presence of exterior ornamental elements inspired mainly by floral, vegetal, and organic forms. It is a structure with a large number of stained-glass windows, which also feature floral motifs and allegorical references to nature.
Its recent reconstruction introduces an interior lighting intervention aimed at reinforcing the symbolic character of this space, enhancing the visibility of light from the exterior of the building through the tower’s numerous openings.
