Research on river reed as a light material in structures designed to support weight.
The circular section of the reed allows three or more reeds joined together by passing wood sticks to form nodes with great stiffness.
As reeds are hollow inside, each wood stick goes through “four walls” (this is, two walls on each reed section), constraining the movement of any joint in any direction.
